Tell Gov. Greitens not to cut paychecks!
A bill on Gov. Greitens’ desk would lower the minimum wage 23% despite the recent increase to $10/hour. This will impact 35,000 workers in St. Louis and 500 Local 655 members. You can use the scripts below to Gov. Greitens or you can use the link provided to send him a letter in your name! P
There are two scripts, one if you have personally benefitted from this raise, and one if you have not, but still believe it is wrong for the governor to cut the pay of thousands of Missourians.

SCRIPT A – Unaffected workers:
“Hello, my name is _________ and I am a hard-working Missourian and a voter. I’m calling today because I am strongly opposed to House Bill 1194, which would cut pay for tens of thousands of my fellow hard-working Missourians and make it harder for families to get by. I hope the governor will consider a VETO of this legislation. Thank you for your time.”
SCRIPT B – Affected workers:
“Hello, my name is _______ and on May 5 of this year, I received a raise at work, thanks to the new minimum wage of $10 an hour in the City of St. Louis. A higher minimum wage means it’s easier for me to pay my bills, support my family, and spend money in my community. I’m calling today because I would like to strongly urge the governor to VETO House Bill 1194, which would cut my pay. I work very hard and I’ve earned the right to make a higher minimum wage. I will not support a politician who says I deserve to make less money on the job. Thank you for your time.”
