This benefit entitled Local 655 members and their families to free college courses at an accredited school and includes free tuition and textbooks. Members have the opportunity to enroll in a number of degree programs or even obtain an Associate degree in General Transfer Studies to a 4-year institution.
How are we able to provide this benefit? The Free College Benefit combines PELL and other federal grants with employer reimbursement and then covers any remaining costs for tuition, fees and books. There is absolutely no cost to the member and they will never be asked to take out any loans.
Effective immediately, all UFCW Local 655 members and their families are eligible for up to 2 years of college absolutely free of charge at an accredited institution.
